yellow plaid linen napkins / pillar candle holders / leaf placemat / wooden acorns / natural flat placemat / linen tablecloth / black rimmed dinner plate / flatware
as you might have seen, this is the same tablescape I built while at CrateKitchen! was so inspired, I wanted to make it again at home. thanks so much to the Crate & Barrel team for teaming up with me for this!
the template
the highly requested template. i created it on google docs, since it seems like the easiest way to access it and have an editable version! the one i created is on Apple Notes app.

here’s the breakdown:
- make your big milestone timeline: that way you are ahead of the game in case you need to order items and have this on paper so you aren’t frantic three days before thanksgiving
- moodboard: having a vision helps, even if it’s screenshotting random photos
- optional: a screenshot of your invite – helps reference to the look and feel, also if you need to go back and send to someone you missed
- menu planning
- the cooking plan: broken down by item, ingredient list, and time takes. i did this in table format, so i could rearrange rows easily in chronological order of how long each dish takes. dinner parties are all about timing!
- the shopping list: organized by aisle of course
- the day before checklist: getting ahead of the schedule is the best kept secret. the day prior is to prep your turkey, bake dishes that can be baked ahead of time, and cut/prep veg so you can throw in easily
- bottoms up day of schedule: this really means bottoms up, like i mean plan from when you are sitting at dinner to the top of the day. this way you know when you need to be done and when each dish needs to be thrown in
